• WE DID IT! - At the 4th of october about 4 AM: Kobe Heleven, Liese Luijten, Rob Van Esser and Pieterjan Uytterhoeven broke the world record for 'Most Escape Rooms played in 24h'!

     

    It was a true honour for us to bring this world record to Belgium.

    The current record-holding team, which set the record in 2018, consists of 4 players. To improve this record, the Belgian team must hold the same number of participants. Rob Van Esser and Kobe Heleven, both active in conceptualizing Escape Rooms at Loconsilio Game Design were the first two players for this record attempt. Liese Luijten and Pieterjan Uytterhoeven, both working at Crimibox, having recently started their own company Pilipili Games, complete the quartet.

  • WHY

     

    During the coronavirus lockdown, social activities in general were at a poor level. Playing Escape Rooms certainly was not an option in. During this period, we searched the net for potential after lockdown escape rooms to play. In doing so, we arrived at a "Guinness World Record", set by 4 Americans in Russia. Today, we will attempt at bringing this record to Belgium.

    Global overview of our route.

    To beat the current record, we have to play at least 23 escape rooms in 24 hours. In order to reach a certain 'Escape Room density', we firstly determined in which region the attempt would take place. We selected the region Gent - Aalst - Dendermonde. After that, we contacted all the selected escape rooms explaining our plans. Every owner responded very enthusiastically, which makes the organization of this unique event even more worthwhile.
